What is the TKT test?
The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) is a test that focuses on the teaching knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners of English, anywhere in the world. It can increase your confidence and enhance your job prospects.
Who can take it?
Any teacher who wants to add a recognized qualification to their curriculum.
What is tested?
There are four core modules and three specialist modules. Each can be taken independently, as a pack of core modules 1, 2 and 3 or in any combination.
Core Modules:
Module 1 – Background to language teaching
Module 2 – Planning for language teaching
Module 3 – Classroom management
Practical – Assessment of teaching competence

TKT: Young Learners
Where and when can I take it?
The Universidad de Piura – Campus Lima is an authorized exam centre. The next exam session in Lima is on Saturday 27 October. Contact Cesar Klauer at cesar.klauer@udep.pe or call 213 9699 extension 2113. Registrations are open until 6 September.
How much does it cost?
The individual module fee is S/. 170. If a candidates chooses to take the three core modules 1, 2 and 3, the fee is S/. 420 for the three.
