[ELTeCS_PERU] Fwd: Postulaciones abiertas para Champion Teachers Peru




Estimado/a Profesor/a:

Agradecemos desde ya su atención al presente o su difusión entre su red de contactos.

El British Council incentiva las mejores prácticas de aula de los profesores de inglés del Perú y, con este fin, deseamos invitarlo a participar en la postulación al programa Champion Teachers Peru.

En su versión 2016 Champion Teachers Peru reconocerá el trabajo de profesores de inglés que demuestren manejo en las mejores prácticas de enseñanza en su aula. De esta manera impulsará el desarrollo profesional en contextos donde el acceso a ello sea limitado, ofreciendo oportunidades de intercambio de conocimientos tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Uno de estos espacios de intercambio será la Conferencia Internacional  IATEFL en Glasgow, Escocia, en abril de 2017.

Lo invitamos a participar y compartir una experiencia exitosa en el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas en inglés en sus alumnos. Buscamos reconocer aquellas experiencias en el aula de inglés donde los docentes encontraron una oportunidad de mejora pedagógica, exploraron alternativas en la bibliografía disponible, tomaron una decisión y diseñaron un plan de trabajo para concretar la oportunidad de mejora. Deseamos escuchar y leer acerca de estas experiencias, reconocerlas y documentarlas.

Champion Teachers extenderá este reconocimiento a las escuelas que alberguen a aquellos docentes promotores de estas mejores prácticas y además integrará a los profesionales en una red que expanda las oportunidades de desarrollo profesional más allá del ámbito del aula.

Para participar, el docente interesado debe acceder a este link y seguir las instrucciones cuidadosamente. El cierre de postulaciones es el 4 de diciembre.


Creemos firmemente que todos podemos aportar para mejorar la enseñanza del inglés en el país y lo hacemos poniendo creatividad, ingenio e inteligencia en nuestras aulas. De esta manera desarrollamos en nuestros alumnos las habilidades comunicativas en inglés que les permiten acceder a un mundo de oportunidades.

Lisa Mann
English Language Fellow currently based in Lima, Peru. She has worked in the field of applied linguistics as a teacher, director of studies, teacher trainer and translator for over 20 years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Portland State University (Oregon, USA) and a Master’s Degree in Translation and Localization from Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Catalonia, Spain). Lisa loves getting together with groups of language teachers and sharing ideas, experiences, triumphs and frustrations, and strives to make her workshops interactive, participative, useful and fun for everyone involved.
Karina García
English and French teacher trainer since 1996. She studied Education-Foreign Languages: English and French at the National University of the Peruvian Amazon, where she worked for 20 years at the School of Education, Foreign Language Department, training prospective language teachers in both languages. She holds a Master Degree in Education: Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Universidad de Piura and Diplomas in Educational Research from Universidad de La Habana and Universidad Cidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil, Teaching Spanish to Speakers of Other Languages from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Peru and a Diploma in Skills and Principles in Language Teacher Training from World Learning and CEM in Costa Rica. She is currently working at the Regional English Language Office at the American Embassy in Lima, Peru.
William Machaca
English Language Curriculum Specialist for the Initial Teacher Training Directorate at the Ministry of Education in Peru. He holds an International Teaching Certificate awarded by American English Programs of New England. With 30 years of experience in the ELT field, he has worked in different school settings in both the public and private sector, as a teacher as well as a program coordinator and director. William also worked at ICPNA Cusco, the binational center where he started his successful teaching career, and which allowed him to become one of the academic coordinators. His experience also includes active participation in teacher associations like Peru TESOL, where he was the regional representative in Cusco, Peru. William is currently involved in a great national effort to reform education, starting by the transformation of preservice education.
