In this webinar, Senior English Language Fellow Stephanie Hanson and teacher trainer Maria Elena Tovar will present recommended practices for motivating English language learners based on research by Dornei & Csizer (1998) and Dornyei (1994). Participants will reflect on how to apply these suggestions in their own classrooms, and will leave the webinar with several practical ideas for immediately improving student motivation in their English classes.

María Elena Tovar is a teacher trainer from Latacunga, Ecuador.
Stephanie Hanson, Senior English Language Fellow.
Stephanie Hanson is the Senior English Language Fellow based in Quito,
Ecuador. She received her M.A. in TESOL from the University of Illinois
and has taught and trained teachers in the United States, China, South
Korea, Turkey, and Indonesia. Stephanie is especially interested in the
teaching of speaking and pronounciation, computer-assisted language
learning (TICS), and cross-cultural communication. In her free time,
Stephanie studies Spanish, Ecuadorian food, and salsa dancing.
