Mindsets and the Learning Brain
Motivation is, without question, the most complex and challenging issue facing teachers today. (Scheidecker & Freeman 1999).  Although said over a decade ago, this sentiment still remains true for many today. With that in mind, this session aims to examine the role and implications of mindsets in educational settings and will highlight strategies and opportunities to create learning environments that thrive, supporting both student motivation and achievement.projects can be a great source of motivation for English language learners of all levels and ages. This workshop explores some of the key motivating factors of long-term projects and presents some Earth Day project ideas that include all of the components necessary to keep your students thinking, learning and engaged throughout the process.
