Le escribo por encargo de Dolly Fernández, quien forma parte de la red ELTeCS Peru y es la Supervisora de la Dirección de Marketing e Imagen Institucional del Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA), para saludarle cordialmente e informarle que nuestra institución está organizando la quinta edición de la ELT Horizons International Conference, importante encuentro internacional que se realizará los días 25 y 26 de mayo del presente.

El Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA) invita a los directores, coordinadores y docentes dedicados a la enseñanza del inglés en colegios, institutos y universidades a nivel nacional a participar en la 5th ELT Horizons International Conference "The Drive Towards Excellence", encuentro internacional que ofrece una valiosa oportunidad de capacitación y actualización en métodos y técnicas pedagógicas de vanguardia.
Este importante evento se realizará los días 25 y 26 de mayo del presente en el Sheraton Lima Hotel & Convention Center (Av. Paseo de la República 170, Cercado de Lima) y contará con las presentaciones de los destacados expertos estadounidenses Mary Ann Christison, Donald Freeman, Adrian Palmer, Mario Herrera y Keith Folse. Asimismo, otros expositores nacionales e internacionales desarrollarán sesiones en simultáneo.
Durante el mes de abril se ofrece una tarifa promocional para la inscripción. Adicionalmente, al inscribirse cinco docentes de una misma institución, el sexto podrá asistir sin costo alguno. Para hacer efectiva esta promoción, agradeceremos escribir al correo electrónico informes@icpna.edu.pe adjuntando la lista de los interesados.

- S/.180 (del 1 al 24 de mayo)

English Language Specialist Vivian Leskes will lead an online discussion on theme-based classes in the English language classroom. Theme-based classes can combine literature, music, photography, and other material to structure high-interest student-centered integrated skills lessons. In this webinar, participants will examine sample themes, brainstorm other possible themes, and learn some websites for material development of theme-based reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Who: Vivian Leskes, English Language Specialist.
Vivian Leskes is an English Language Specialist with the US Department of
State and Professor of ESL at Holyoke Community College. In 2008, she was
a Fulbright Scholar in Irkutsk, Siberia, in the field of Teaching English as a
Foreign Language (TEFL). In addition to her teacher training work in Russia,
over the past ten years, she has conducted trainings in Peru, Ukraine,
Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Morocco, and Indonesia. Lost in
Siberia, her memoir of her experiences teaching and studying Russian in
the Former Soviet Union, was published by Haley’s in 2011.
When: Wednesday, May 9th at 4:00pm - 5:00pm (Peru time).
Friday, May 11th at 8:30am - 9:30am (Peru time).
