Barbara Hoskins Sakamoto on ‘The Lives of English Language Teachers’

Saturday 19 July 2014 at 15:00 BST

Barbara and her colleagues at the International Teacher Development Institute (iTDi) have been using a variety of media to carry out narrative interviews with native and non-native English language teachers from around the world. They are looking into how both beginning and experienced teachers view the work they do, what motivates them, how they deal with challenges and how their personal and professional identities change over time. Come along to this webinar to find out how teachers are dealing with the life/work balance, gaining respect of colleagues and finding a place within the international teaching community as well as making use of professional development. Participants will also have the chance to offer their own stories and use the framework provided to locate their place in the global community of teachers.
