Listening Logs to Increase English Practice

In this web seminar we will explore the uses and benefits of listening logs as regular assignments to give students extra English practice outside of class. The presenter will share tips on how logs can reduce a teacher’s work load while maintaining or increasing students’ exposure to English. Attendees will also learn how podcasts are incredibly useful technological resources for these listening assignments.

Who: Stephanie Hanson

Stephanie Hanson is the Senior English Language Fellow based in Quito, Ecuador. She received her M.A. in TESOL from the University of Illinois and has taught and trained teachers in the United States, China, South Korea, Turkey, and Indonesia. Stephanie is especially interested in the teaching of speaking and pronunciation, computer-assisted language learning (TICS), and cross-cultural communication. In her free time, Stephanie studies Spanish, Ecuadorian food, and salsa dancing.
