All that Jazz! In honor of Jazz Appreciation month in April, join us for a webinar to learn about this unique American musical tradition that is now heard around the world. We will discuss the origins and characteristics of Jazz music, talk about some of the great Jazz musicians for the 21st century and the Jazz Ambassadors program. Don’t be stuck with the “blues,” come learn more about jazz and how to introduce new notes to your classroom.

Who: Melissa Schumi Jones, Cultural Affairs Officer Ms. Schumi Jones is a Cultural Affairs Officer at the Embassy of the
United States of America in Lima, Peru. Prior to her arriving in Peru in
October 2011, she served as Vice Consul at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta,
Indonesia. Ms. Schumi Jones joined the U.S. Department of State in 2002
and spent six years at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. Ms. Schumi
Jones holds a Bachelor's degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA
and a Master's degree in International Affairs from the George Washington
University in Washington, D.C. She speaks Spanish, Italian, and Indonesian.
Rae Roberts, Senior English Language Fellow Mrs. Roberts is the Senior English Language Fellow based Lima, Peru.
She has worked in the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and China.
Mrs. Roberts has provided teacher training in 10 countries.
